The Castle of Vimianzo, also known as the Castle of the Moscoso family, is one of the best-preserved fortresses in Galicia. Its original construction dates back to the 13th century, although it was expanded in later centuries to meet the defensive needs of the local nobility. During the 15th-century Irmandinhos Revolts, the castle was besieged and attacked, yet it survived the destruction that befell many other Galician strongholds. Its imposing walls and towers, still surrounded by a visible moat, evoke the feudal power that once dominated the region. Today, the castle hosts permanent live craft exhibitions, transforming it into a cultural space where history, art, and tradition meet.
