Pambre

The Pambre Castle is one of the few Galician fortresses that survived the Irmandiña revolts of the 15th century.

Built in 1375 by Gonzalo Ozores de Ulloa, the castle was designed with imposing military architecture to withstand attacks. Its hilltop location provided a crucial defensive advantage. Over the centuries, it passed through various noble families before falling into abandonment in the 20th century. Thanks to recent restorations, it can now be visited and stands as one of the best-preserved examples of medieval castles in Galicia.
